Compliance with the following instructions will ensure your tattoo heals as quickly as possible.

1.  Remove gauze after 1 hour; wash with anti-bacterial soap every 6 hours.  This is to be done gently.  Pat it dry with a clean towel.

2.  Apply a thin coat of anti-bacterial ointment - such as Bacitracin, Neosporin Ointment or Tattoo Goo - and cover with a non-stick gauze pad.  This will help prevent scapping and quicken the healing process.

3.  Keep the tattoo clean and avoid direct sunlight, chlorine, perfume (on tattoo) and any other activity that may subject the tattoo to discomfort and chaffing.

4.  After 72 hours, it is normal for your new tattoo to start to itch.  This is part of the healing process and because your hair is starting to grow back.  DO NOT PICK OR SCRATCH.

5.  Relief from itching can be obtained by following steps 1 & 2.  Continue the use of ointment for 7 to 10 business days.  Your skin will peel like a mild sunburn.  At this point, the use of Aloe Vera and/or Vitamin E lotions is fine to apply to the new tattoo.

6.  When in the sun after the tattoo has healed, the use of sunblock will help maintain lights and darks and minimize loss of details caused by sun worshipers.

7.  Always use non-stick gauze pads in any situation where there is a likelihood that your tattoo will be exposed to dirt, grease, etc. when healing.

8.  Cellophane can make an excellent temporary bandage BUT should not be used for more than 1 hour at a time.  This is because the cellophane will increase the perspiration and trap moisture against the skin.
